💙 It is with the heaviest of hearts, that we share news from within our Sharkies family and community. 💙![]()
Current DMC player Kahlani (Dad), former female player and coach, Angel (Mum), and former Executive Committee Member, player and coach, Risha (Nan) have experienced the most unimaginable loss of their precious baby boy, Kenai Cortez Wallace.![]()
Kenai was deeply loved from the moment he was known, and his short time here has left an everlasting imprint on all who had the privilege of meeting him. No parent should ever have to say goodbye to their child, and no family should have to navigate such profound grief while also carrying the emotional and financial burdens that follow.![]()
During this incredibly difficult time, Angel and Kahlani are facing funeral and memorial expenses, while also continuing to care for their beautiful daughter, Alaia, as they begin to navigate life after such a devastating loss. The weight of grief is overwhelming, and the last thing they should have to worry about is financial stress.![]()
This GoFundMe has been created to help ease that burden and allow Angel, Kahlani, and Alaia the space and time they need to grieve, heal, and be together as a family. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward supporting them through this heartbreaking period.![]()

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page or keeping the family in your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness, love, and support mean more than words can express.![]()
Rest peacefully, sweet Kenai. You will always be loved and remembered.

Welcome to the Parkwood Sharks Rugby League Senior team as we prepare for the 2026 season!![]()
With this year being the Club’s 50-year reunion, it’s a very special milestone for Parkwood. I’m really excited to get started with the Sharkies and to meet both our returning and new players. As a team, coaching staff, and management group, our goal for 2026 is to make the semi-finals.![]()
A little about my coaching background:
My coaching journey began with my former club, the Kia Ora Warriors in Manawatu, where we had great success over a four-year period. During that time, I was honoured to be selected as the New Zealand 7s coach after the National Tournament, which lead to travelling to Sydney for the World 7s. I later coached the Manawatu Mustangs in the Lion Red Cup National Competition, followed by several more seasons with the Mustangs where we won the Second Division Final against a strong West Coast side. I then went on to coach the Central Falcons in the National Bartercard Cup competition.![]()
We are also looking at taking the team back to New Zealand to play my old club, the Kia Ora Warriors, as part of our 50-year reunion celebrations. To help make this happen, we’ll be running a number of fundraising events throughout the year, including a golf tournament, a hangi, lotto drops and more. We will also be seeking sponsorship to support the team and the NZ trip — any assistance will be greatly appreciated.![]()
Come down and join a great family club for our 50-year celebrations — Up the Sharkies!
We have our first team gathering 5:30pm on Thursday the 15th of January at 180 Musgrave Ave.
